Measure your ring size at home – 2 different methods
There are several different ways to measure your ring size at home. Here, we list two different methods that suit you, regardless of whether you have a ring at home that already fits, or if you want to measure your ring size without a ring.
1. Measure ring size with an existing ring
Do you have a ring that you know fits? Then this is an easy way to find out your ring size. Use a caliper (or a ruler if you don't have a caliper) and measure the inside diameter of your ring. Round up to the nearest millimeter. Then use the conversion table above to find your size.
2. Measure ring size with string
If you don't have access to a sizing ring or a ring that you know fits, you can also use a string – a convenient way to measure ring size without a ring. Here's how to measure ring size with string:
- Use a piece of string and wrap it around your finger
- Make a mark on the string where it meets the end of the string
- Straighten the string and measure it from end to mark with a ruler – now you know the circumference of your finger
Note! The circumference of the finger is usually widest around the knuckle. You want to ensure that the ring can get over the knuckle to fit into place.
It also works well to use a tape measure that you wrap around your finger and read the measurement.
